How we make money
Who owns Caslon Media, how it's funded, and how that stays separate from our recommendations.
Ownership
Caslon Media is the trading name of P.M. de Vries, an independent company registered in Amsterdam (KvK 64708101). It is founder-owned and self-funded — there are no outside investors.
How we earn
Our sites are free to read. We earn in two honest ways:
- Advertising — display advertising on some of our sites.
- Affiliate commissions — when a reader buys through some of the links on our sites (for example, a book on Amazon or an Audible trial), we may earn a commission at no extra cost to the reader.
Why this doesn't bend our judgment
Revenue never dictates our recommendations or our data. We don't sell better rankings, we don't change a verdict for a commission, and advertisers don't review our content before it publishes. If the honest answer is "don't buy this," that's the answer we publish. This separation is spelled out in our ethics and editorial standards.
