The rules every Caslon Media property is built and maintained under.
Zero fabrication
Every fact on our pages traces to a source we can point to — a state education department, a published standard, a manufacturer's specification, a primary text. If we can't verify a data point, we omit it. We never pad a page to make it longer, and we never guess.
Sourcing & verification
Our sites are reference and data publications, not a newsroom. We compile from named public datasets and check them against primary sources. Data pages cite where their data comes from and carry a "last verified" date so you know how fresh they are. When a dataset updates on a known cadence, our pages follow it.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it in place, promptly, and note the correction. See our corrections policy for how to report an error — corrections are answered first.
Use of automation and AI
We use automation and AI-assisted tooling for data processing and drafting. Every published page has human editorial oversight, and the founder is accountable for what ships. We would rather publish fewer pages than unreviewed ones, and we prune thin pages rather than let them dilute the sites they live on. We do not publish unreviewed, mass-generated content.
Author accountability
Content is produced under the accountability of the company's founder (see team). Where a property carries bylines, the named author is a real, accountable person. We do not invent authors, credentials, or expertise.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently of our commercial relationships. Advertisers and affiliate partners never decide what we recommend, and a commission never changes a verdict or a data point. See our ethics policy and how we make money.
How we earn, disclosed
Our sites are free to read and supported by advertising and affiliate partnerships. When a page contains affiliate links, it says so, next to the links, in plain language — see our advertising & affiliate disclosure.
